We hope you all had a fantastic weekend; our founders, Ben and Aggie, certainly did! They spent the weekend in London, and held an event to introduce our fragrances to the United Kingdom on Saturday, April 20th.
Saturday was a beautiful, sunny day, and the event took place from 12pm-5pm. We were located on the 1st floor of the store in the beauty and fragrance sections, among a ton of other fragrance brands from Guerlain to Creed and beyond! We introduced our scents to local Brits and tourists alike; one woman visiting from Washington, D.C., absolutely loved our D.C. fragrance! Our scents were so successful that Ben and Aggie ended up staying an hour late to keep mingling and telling the stories behind each of our scents.

Two weeks ago Nomaterra attended Missionelle's
Art of Seduction event at the Flatiron Hotel. At the event our founder Aggie discussed a number of scents and essential oils which are known to be aphrodisiacs and have been used throughout history in the art of seduction, which got us thinking about our own scents. Which of ours would be the best to use for a special date night, we wondered? As it turns out, our sultry Miami fragrance features six of these super seductive ingredients! Vanilla has always been known as a seductive oil; it increases production of sexual hormones (testosterone and estrogen), and there's a hefty dose of vanilla in our Miami fragrance! Miami also has musk in its base, which has a special effect on women. Musk makes women feel confident, sensual and sexy- men can't really smell it; women smell it 1000 times stronger than men do! But confidence is key in any seductive endeavor, so musk is a great thing to use!

Cleopatra, one of the most renowned lovers of all time, is reputed to have scented the sails of her ship with jasmine to seduce Mark Antony as she sailed to meet him. This sweet, pungent flower provides much of the sweetness found in our Miami scent.

Happy Monday Nomaterra fans!
We had a fantastic weekend here at Nomaterra, and hope you all did, too! We held an event on Saturday at one of our favorite beauty boutiques here in Brooklyn,
Shen Beauty. We had delicious cupcakes made with ingredients similar to notes found in each of our perfumes, sangria, and our perfumer and founder Aggie was blending custom scents using essential oils. Nomaterra was thrilled to be a part of Missionelle's Art of Seduction event at Toshi's Penthouse in the Flatiron Hotel last night! Our founder, Aggie Burnett, was invited to speak as part of a panel of fashion and beauty experts about the art of seduction. There was a lot of fantastic advice to be had, with gems like celebrity hairstylist Aleksandra Sasha Nesterchuk's insistence that to be seductive "you have to want to have sex with yourself!"
Following the panel, Nomaterra set up a fragrance corner where guests could try out a variety of different aphrodisiac blends. The blends were made with essential oils that are known aphrodisiacs such as lavender, ylang ylang, and jasmine. We also provided custom samples of our blends to guests so that they could test them out at home!
