Nomaterra Fragrances finds love for DC Couple

In light of this chilly Valentine's Day weekend, we learned something recently that might warm your hearts. A few weekends ago, we were invited to a friend's birthday party in NYC. We met a couple there, Nurah and Courtney, who have been dating for a little over a year now. Turns out that they had met each other at Nomaterra's Washington, D.C. Launch Party back in January of 2013!! They met there, started dating, and fell in love! It was so nice to reconnect with them, and happy to know that Nomaterra brought them together!! (Their favorite fragrance...DC Cherry Blossom of course!)

Nomaterra Fragrances Now Being Sold on MegBiram.com Posted on 6 Oct 22:17 , 0 comments

Nomaterra Fragrances Now Being Sold on MegBiram.com One of our most favorite DC bloggers is now carrying our Nomaterra travel sprays, and will be carrying the Nomaterra roll-ons and candles by the end of this month. For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing Meg, or reading her blog, this girl has the kind of energy, spontaneous brilliance, and not to mention, style, one can only envy (she's also been named 2013 "Style Setter" by Washingtonian Magazine). Her extensive knowledge and tips range from entrepreneurial to health-related to what to wear this season. With a lifestyle blog and marketing and social media consulting business that's been growing since 2007, and a new store that has opened this month, this girl is on fire and we highly recommend checking out her website, www.megbiram.com.

DC-Bottle-Touched-Up---Resize-Square_1024x1024

Found in our Washington, D.C. fragrance, Cherry Blossoms are an integral part of the history of Washington, D.C. Donated by the Japanese in 1912 to United States as a gesture of friendship, 150 of the initial 3,020 offering, still remain. The first two cherry blossom trees were planted on March 27, 1912 by first lady Helen Taft and the Japanese ambassador’s wife, Viscountess Chinda on the northern bank of D.C.’s Tidal Basin. You can still view these two trees today near the John Paul Jones statue at the south end of 17th Street. The first cherry blossom festival was held in 1935, and now draws in approximately 1.4 million viewers (attendees?) each year. The peak bloom time is on average April 4th and the blooming period lasts only a few days to two weeks at most.

DC’s cherry blossoms are most of the Yoshino variety. Their smell has been described as a very faint and sheer rose-like and cherry blend, with a hint of sweet and spicy. DC is the perfect fragrance for fall. With a variety of new and changing opportunities, from the return to school to the resurgence in work after summer, DC is assertive and powerful making it your perfect partner for the fall!

Washington D.C.'s 30 Under 30 Posted on 24 Jun 12:33 , 0 comments

Happy Monday Nomaterra fans! We hope everyone had a great weekend; last week we came across this fantastic list courtesy of Refinery29 of the top 30 rising stars in D.C. under 30. We love the idea of giving young up and-comers (like Nomaterra founders Ben and Aggie) the props that they deserve, so we absolutely loved this story and thought we had to share! And, we have to admit, we think that everyone on this list would love our powerful and fresh Washington, D.C. fragrance! Be sure to follow Nomaterra on Twitter and Facebook!

Sniffapalooza's Spring Fling Posted on 8 May 11:56 , 0 comments

Sniffapalooza This past weekend was a busy one here at Nomaterra, with back to back events at Bella Cara, a fantastic boutique which sells Nomaterra fragrances in Washington D.C., and with Sniffapalooza's Spring Fling Event. The Sniffapalooza Spring Fling was "an entire weekend crammed full of olfactory and multi-sensory experiences. You'll come away with new knowledge, new friends, lots of new goodies, and a new perspective on a fragrant life." Nomaterra founders Ben and Aggie gave a presentation about Nomaterra at the Spring Fling; they discussed the story behind the brand, how Aggie creates each of our fragrances, and more! Thanks to everyone who attended the event!

Nomaterra's Fenwick Event Posted on 22 Apr 13:46 , 0 comments

Happy Monday, everyone! We hope you all had a fantastic weekend; our founders, Ben and Aggie, certainly did! They spent the weekend in London, and held an event to introduce our fragrances to the United Kingdom on Saturday, April 20th. photo-1

Saturday was a beautiful, sunny day, and the event took place from 12pm-5pm. We were located on the 1st floor of the store in the beauty and fragrance sections, among a ton of other fragrance brands from Guerlain to Creed and beyond! We introduced our scents to local Brits and tourists alike; one woman visiting from Washington, D.C., absolutely loved our D.C. fragrance! Our scents were so successful that Ben and Aggie ended up staying an hour late to keep mingling and telling the stories behind each of our scents.  photo-2   Many thanks to everyone who came by and explored Nomaterra's fragrances with us! Cheers!
